Selma director Ava DuVernay announced on Twitter (@AVAETC) her next movie, Disney's A Wrinkle in Time, will hit theaters on April 6, 2018.

The adaptation of the 1963 fantasy novel, written by Madeleine L’Engle, starts shooting later this month in Los Angeles.

Storm Reid, Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, Zach Galifianakis, Mindy Kaling, Chris Pine and Gugu Mbatha-Raw are on-board to topline the film.

The story follows Meg Murry (Storm Reid), a young girl traumatized by the disappearance of her scientist father (Pine) years before. She finds herself on an interplanetary journey with a schoolmate and her younger brother to find her father. They are aided by a trio of supernatural beings: Mrs. Whatsit (Witherspoon), Mrs. Who (Kaling) and Mrs. Which (Winfrey).
