Sylvester Stallone told the LA Times that if The Expendables does well, investors would likely fund a sequel for which he has "an idea ready to go." He did not reveal any plot details though.

Story centers on a European con artist and her 10-year-old son who find themselves in Oklahoma in an effort to escape her past and build a better future. The duo blithely charm their way from one adventure to another until the mother's criminal past catches up with her.

Set in the basking sun of L.A., the film follows a burger-loving hit man (John Travolta), his philosophical partner (Samuel L. Jackson), a drug-addled gangster's moll (Uma Thurman) and a washed-up boxer (Bruce Willis), as their four tales converge in a story of violence and redemption.

A decade and a half after their seminal indie film launched meteoric filmmaking careers, Splick and Jason find themselves staring at their own individual, pre-midlife crises.
