- Universal Pictures was originally eyeing a live-action/animated movie with Chloe Moretz toplining as Emily, but the rights lapsed and Dark Horse Entertainment moved the project to Amazon Studios. The Amazon version will be in the form of an animated movie that would keep the authenticity and edge of the property (Hollywood Reporter, 12/6/16).
