Movies Released on April 1, 2011
Last weekend, Diary of a Wimpy Kid trumped Sucker Punch. The Wimpy Kid sequel came in with $23.8 million, which was around the same amount of the original. It's no surprise then that the third movie is already in development. There are five books and given the relatively low budgets, don't be surprised to see Wimpy Kid 5 hitting theaters in Spring 2014. Sucker Punch disappointed with $19.1 million. Despite the visually stunning trailers, the marketing campaign apparently wasn't effective reaching beyond Zack Snyder's core fanbase.
