Tessa Young is an 18-year old college student with a simple life, excellent grades, and a sweet boyfriend. She always has things planned out ahead of time, until she meets a rude boy named Harry, with too many tattoos and piercings who shatters her plans. She falls in love with him and their relationship is a roller coaster ride.

Shot over the course of three years, the film centers on a willful young girl named Mia whose life is turned upside down when her family decides to leave London to manage a lion farm in South Africa. When a beautiful white lion, Charlie, is born, Mia finds happiness once again and develops a special bond with the growing cub. As Charlie grows to full size, Mia uncovers an upsetting secret kept hidden by her father. Distraught that Charlie could be in danger, Mia decides to rescue him. The two friends set out on an incredible journey across the South African savanna in search of a sanctuary where Charlie can live out his life in freedom.

Eventually, her work attracts the attention of a scheming would-be writer, who also happens to be Emily’s brother’s lover, and sees Emily’s poetry as a vehicle for her own creative ambitions. Beneath the quips, period fripperies and not so secret trysts is a moving drama of thwarted passion both romantic and artistic that is also a timely critique of how Emily Dickinson's life was posthumously recast for the genteel sensibilities of her late Victorian readership - a view of her that still dominates today.

So he walked away to play on the Harlem streets for “his people.” Reborn as Mr. Satan, he spread his gospel and became a NY City legend. When a white, Jewish musician named Adam Gussow asked to play with him, their lives took a powerful turn. But life on the road took its toll, and Sterling vanishes. The separation would test both men’s courage, and their journey to find each other again a tale of tragedy, survival and miraculous rebirth.
