Movies Released January 14, 2011

This Year in Movies - The Dilemma and The Green Hornet open in wide release this four-day weekend. The Michel Gondry 3D movie with Seth Rogen, Jay Chou and Cameron Diaz appears to have the edge with tracking putting The Green Hornet in the $40 million range for the long weekend (Martin Luther King Day on Monday). Directed by Ron Howard, The Dilemma with Vince Vaugn and Kevin James looks to do about half of Hornet, which would land it in the $20 million range.

Last weekend, holdovers True Grit and Little Fockers topped the box office. True Grit took in $14.6 million for #1 and pushed its total to $110 million. That is a record for the Coen brothers. It tops their previous top grossing movie No Country for Old Men, which sold over $74 million in tickets in the US and Canada.
