This Year In Movies - Beastly, Rango, Take Me Home Tonight, The Adjustment Bureau open in wide release this weekend. There's a genre for everyone this weekend, but the clear leader looks to be Gore Verbinski's Rango. Johnny Depp voices the chameleon named Rango in the computer-animated Western that looks to open with around $40 million, according to HSX trading. In a distant second place, Matt Damon and Emily Blunt will attempt $20 million in ticket sales in the George Nolfi directed The Adjustment Bureau. The long delayed Beastly and Take Me Home Tonight both look like they'll struggle in the single-digits. Beastly was originally slated for a July 30 open in 2010, but moved several times before finally settling on this weekend. Take Me Home Tonight has an even longer history of release date changes as it has been nearly 4 years since Topher Grace and Anna Faris began production of what was then Young Americans and later Kids In America.

Last weekend, Disney's Gnomeo and Juliet snuck to the top of the box office after its third week of release. It was aided by disappointing opens from Hall Pass and Drive Angry. Although expectations were as high as $20 million, the Farrelly brothers' comedy was in line with the performance of their movies in this decade.
