Movies Released May 11, 2012

This Year in Movies - Dark Shadows opens in wide release this weekend. The Tim Burton adaptation of 1960s TV series looks to debut with around $30 million. Even with the help of Johnny Depp, Dark Shadows can only look forward to a second place finish on the box office charts. It will be overshadowed by the newly crowned all-time weekend champ, The Avengers that sold over $207 million in tickets in just three days in the US and Canada. That was on top of its $475 million international gross from the previous two weeks.
