When the crew of an underwater oil rig in the middle of the ocean are enlisted by the U.S. government to assist in the rescue of an American nuclear submarine during the height of the Cold War, they discover a strange and mysterious force living in the deep and their rescue mission becomes an adventure into the wondrous and the unknown.

The story will see the sleuths (and brothers) grown up but not speaking to each other. They have been estranged for years but are foced to reunite to solve a mystery.
