A drama that takes an adult look at the Jack and the Beanstalk legend. When a princess is kidnapped, the long-standing peace between men and giants is threatened. A young farmer is given an opportunity to lead a dangerous expedition to the giants' kingdom in hopes of rescuing her.

Follows Katniss Everdeen who has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) - a competition that could change Panem forever.
