Tennis player turned coach Tashi (Zendaya) has taken her husband, Art (Mike Faist), and transformed him into a world-famous grand slam champion. To jolt him out of his recent losing streak, she makes him play a “Challenger” event — close to the lowest level of pro tournament — where he finds himself standing across the net from his former best friend and Tashi’s former boyfriend (Josh O’Connor).

The married owners of a struggling functional fitness gym have the perfect plan to raise money: they’ll bring in the best athletes to compete in "The Games" to win the huge cash prize. They record everything documentary-style as the athletes confess their secrets. As the team trains, egos clash, tempers flare, and a figure from the past threatens to destroy the team, the gym, and their lives.
