Story follows Alex (Sandra Bullock), an American who has fallen on hard times, who starts a job at a London armored car company that was the recent target of a deadly heist. She works her way into the confidence of the tight-knit crew and we discover that there is much more to Alex than it seems. As she goes to dangerous and morally complicated lengths to pursue her own mysterious agenda, an explosive secret from Alex’s past surfaces propelling the story in shocking, thrilling new directions‎.

Set in New York in 1957, the movie follows Spider (Holloway), a young gang leader who blunders into the gambling nest of a notorious gangster, makes off with a suitcase full of money and is beaten and left for dead. He is taken in by a sheltered young woman named Tamara (Habel), who hides him along with her reclusive, bedridden uncle, an exiled crime lord.

The story centers on Charlie (Quinn), a Los Angeles billionaire financial whiz who goes into self-imposed exile in Tijuana after his empire is revealed to have been a Ponzi scheme. While looking for the woman he abandoned there 25 years before, Charlie is pursued by a Mexican gangster (Andy Garcia), a federal agent (Mario Van Peebles) and thugs sent by a former client (Luke Goss) looking to retrieve his money.
