Nine years ago, two strangers met by chance, spent a night together in Vienna, and parted before sunrise. On a passenger train, a beautiful young woman traveling alone carries a handmade ceramic vase, intricately painted by her own hand, a gift for a distant lover. She meets a friendly, handsome young veterinarian, who tries to tell her that she should sell the valuable piece to him, instead of giving it away to her boyfriend for free. Simply to spite the persistent animal doctor, the young woman hurls the vase to the floor of the train, shattering it to pieces.

The Jerry Bruckheimer project is described as a more realistic representation of King Arthur (Clive Owen) and the Knights of the Round Table. Unlike other movies based on the medieval legend, such as the fantastical "Excalibur", this story will look at the historical significance of King Arthur's powerful role as a politician following the collapse of the Roman Empire.

Will Ferrell stars as Ron Burgandy, the top-rated anchorman in San Diego in the '70s. When feminism marches into the newsroom in the form of ambitious newswoman Veronica Corningstone (Christina Applegate), Ron is willing to play along at first-as long as Veronica stays in her place, covering cat fashion shows, cooking, and other "female" interests. " Riding Giants" takes us along surfing's timeline from it's early Polynesian roots, to its rebirth in the early 20th Century, to the development of a fledgling surf culture along the coast of Southern California in the 1940s highlighting the group of extraordinary adventurers that emerged: surfers who, not satisfied with the mere recreational and social aspects of the sport, began searching for bigger and bigger waves, pushing the boundaries of performance to explore the "unridden realm." Riding Giants is the story of these big wave riders, of where and how their quest began, of the classic characters who throughout the eras chased their dreams out into the blue water, and of the surfers who still do today, riding 50, 60 and even 70 foot waves in a manner once considered the realm of fantasy.

Set in the beach community of East Hampton, New York, the film chronicles one pivotal summer in the lives of famous children's books author Ted Cole (Jeff Bridges) and his beautiful wife Marion (Kim Basinger). Their once-great marriage has been strained by tragedy. The Coles lovingly parent their surviving child, bright 4-year-old Ruth (Elle Fanning), who takes everything in stride as perhaps only a child can.
