When a young boy is seven a lodger steals the family’s car and commits suicide in it, stirring up ancient powers best left undisturbed. Creatures from beyond the world are on the loose, and it takes everything from the boy to just to stay alive. His only defense is three women on a ramshackle farm at the end of the lane. The youngest of them claims that her duckpond is an ocean. The oldest can remember the Big Bang.

The film is about a priest who participates in a medical experiment to find a cure for a deadly disease with traumatic repercussions. "Thirst" stars Song Kang-ho ("Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance," "The Host") and Shin Ha-kyun ("Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance"). Involving unusually risqué elements, the film also stars Kim Ok-bi ("Dasepo Naughty Girls") as leading lady.
