My Dark Places

This is the true story of the 1958 Los Angeles murder of Jean Ellroy, the mother of novelist James Ellroy, who was 10 at the time. Specifically, the film focuses on the (unsolved) police investigation of the crime, as seen through the eyes of the novelist as an adult (David Duchovny), who spent a great deal of time studying the L.A.P.D.'s homicide division while writing the memoir upon which this movie is based.

My Only Sunshine

A dysfunctional couple orchestrate a bank robbery as an unconventional act of marriage counseling. A cop hostage negotiator, who previously investigated a past related murder, tries to resolve all.
