Movies Released January 13, 2012
Last weekend, The Devil Inside surged past expectation with a weekend gross of nearly $34 million. That was more than double of even generous predictions and represented a huge success for Paramount Pictures which reportedly acquired the movie for just $1 million. Trailers attached to the October release of Paranormal Activity gave The Devil Inside a big boost in awareness and eventually carried over into a very strong weekend. The downside however is that the movie received horrible reviews from critics and audiences alike (7% on RottenTomatoes, F-grade from Cinemascore).
