In a small, blue-collar town in Pennsylvania, a 32-year-old woman’s teen daughter goes missing and she is left to raise her infant grandson alone. Over the course of 11 years, from the time her daughter vanishes, the woman faces the trials-and-tribulations of the subsequent years looking for closure, leading up the long-awaited discovery of the truth.

When a young deaf boy comes across a wounded man in a snowdrift, he moves him to a nearby barn and helps nurse him back to health. Before long, it becomes clear how dangerous this man is, and the unlikely friendship that develops between the two may have grave consequences.

In the wake of his dramatic escape from captivity, Jesse must come to terms with his past in order to forge some kind of future.
