In her debut as a writer-director, actress Jennifer Esposito (Blue Bloods, Summer Of Sam, Crash) brings late 1980s Staten Island to vivid life through the lens of Rose Larusso (Emily Bader), an inquisitive young girl who discovers her father (Domenick Lombardozzi) is an emerging mafia kingpin. Rose’s growing desire to break free from the path set before her soon threatens her existence and alienates her from her closest allies: her mother Francine (Esposito), her sister Connie (Odessa A’zion), and her aunt Christine (Annabella Sciorra).

Dylan’s falling into an obsession of her own: a bad romance with the main actor Elmore, whose insistence on doing his own stunts will have disastrous consequences. Brutal incidents in both women’s worlds force them to back together to confront their personal demons and their own relationship.

When Blanche (Virginie Efira) meets the charismatic Gregoire (Melvil Poupaud) at a party her twin sister Rose drags her to, she thinks she has found the one. Zaffan is a rebellious and carefree young girl, until she begins to see horrifying physical changes in her body.
