Steve Bellafiore (played by Cameron Palatas) is a very special kid. After a brutal knife attack in prison, a former gang leader (Arturo Muyshondt) ends up in solitary confinement, where he discovers his faith in God and finds his true purpose as a pastor after being released on parole. Donny Herbert, a 34-year-old Buffalo, NY, firefighter, is trapped for six minutes without oxygen before he is rescued. Herbert survives but only in a non-responsive state. When doctors try a drug that normally is for attention deficit or Parkinson’s disease, he wakes up and he spends the day reuniting with his family. After 15 hours though, Herbert becomes unresponsive again, and dies a year later.

Two brothers become pastors at different churches in the same community. One brother develops his church into a modern, high-tech congregation that uses digital devices and ATMs. The other brother follows a humbler path but soon finds his church in decline and in need of financial help.
