The story of a Washington D.C. publicist and blogger who jokingly suggest that senior citizens should voluntarily commit suicide to solve the social security crisis -- only to see a politician, with whom she becomes romantically involved, take up the cause.

A young woman named Rachel survives as a scavenger in a ruined, dangerous city of the near future. The city is littered with discarded experiments from the Company — a bio-tech firm now seemingly derelict. From one of her scavenging missions, Rachel brings home Borne, who is little more than a green lump, but exudes a strange charisma. And yet, little as she understands what or who Borne may be, she cannot give him up, even as Borne begins to grow and change in unexpected ways.

Set in a civil war-torn future New York City, a clairvoyant man is handed a baby and sees two visions of the future: one where the child becomes a fascist dictator, and one where it brings peace on Earth.

After the war, a wealthy former WWI officer of the Loamshire Regiment spends his new-found leisure time as a private detective.
