Set in 1939, the British are being pounded by Germany in mainland Europe, and Winston Churchill wants to hit back hard. His answer: stop fighting under accepted gentlemanly rules of engagement, and create a group of warriors who become the first "deniable" secret operatives to strike behind enemy lines. They are basically Britian’s first black op unit. Members are recruited, knowing they are likely to be killed. They become a very tight knit group and their work spans WWII. They win important victories against the Nazis, breaking all the accepted rules of warfare in the process and use deception and even the bow and arrow to dispatch the enemy.

Searching for a break from her cosmopolitan life in Milwaukee, Julia Rabia (Lily Rabe), arrives in the close knit Reagan-era town of Owl, North Dakota for a one-semester high school teaching job. But when the small town turns out to be a wonderland of second-string poets, smoldering Marlboro Men, and a social hierarchy that echoes high school, Julia doesn’t know if she’s come to town to get away from home or to find it.

Roy Freeman is undergoing a cutting-edge Alzheimer's treatment. He is forced to grapple with the impact of an investigation from his former life after a death row inmate that Freeman arrested 10 years prior starts to proclaim his innocence. Intrigued and fighting to regain his memory, Freeman enlists his former partner to help him revive the case and discover the truth. Together, they set off to unravel a tangled web of secrets, forcing Freeman to make some horrific discoveries.

Follows a young paramedic Ollie Cross (Sheridan) navigates his first year on the job. He’s partnered with Rutkovsky (Gibson), an experienced medic who thrusts Ollie into the harsh realities of New York’s inner-city streets. Ollie ultimately finds his perspective on life and death beginning to shift.
