The story begins when a kid sees his family slain by supernatural creatures. As he ages, he becomes revenge-hungry and seeks out demons to appease his anger. He has to reshuffle his ideas, however, when he realizes that some humans are actually worse than the spirits.

Guy Pearce stars as Dr. Bender, a skeptical doctor guiding a distressed mother (Wise) through a perilous desert in search of a cure for her daughter's demonic possession.

A young woman entertains a disturbing offer which lets her pursue her dreams, for better or for much, much worse.
