The interspecies love story centers on residents of Wainscott Woods, Long Island. They include Bagley Brown Jr., an eccentric weasel who wears an eye patch, and Bridget, a beautiful bass who lives in a nearby pond. Bagley must save Bridget and her pond mates when their home is jeopardized by both a drought and a hungry osprey.
