Tokyo Underworld

Nick Zappetti, an Italian-American from East Harlem, is was part of the U.S. occupation forces sent to Japan after World War II. Believing that Tokyo offers certain opportunities, Zappetti has a failed stint as a wrestler, participates in a fumbled diamond heist and is deported. But he returns illegally and opens a pizza joint, which in the mid-'60s becomes the center of Tokyo's nightlife, and for the next 15 years, he becomes an integral part in the yakuza's rise to power.
