Rickey, a lively and adventurous young man, and Glenn, his longtime friend who has embraced a settled family life, embark on a spontaneous road trip from Los Angeles to Sacramento. Along the way, they confront their shared history, prompting them to reflect on their future paths.

The film chronicles the epic adventure of the wandering Asian elephants that captivated viewers around the world in 2020 and explores the beautiful, rarely seen world of Yunnan, China where the elephants (called Dá in the local Wa dialect) live.

Set in the chaotic final days of World War II, the story follows a group of Nazi Germany’s most prominent prisoners as they are transported across Europe, out of Allied reach, to be used as bargaining chips in the German surrender.
