Wildlife Wars: My Fight...

Nairobi-born paleoanthropologist Richard Leakey's conservationist efforts to stop elephant poaching in the Kenyan National Parks put his life in danger. In 1993, Leakey flies a small propeller-driven plane that crashes, crushing his lower legs, both of which are later amputated. Sabotage is suspected but never proven.

Rell Sunn, a native of Oahu, is a pioneer in the big-wave world of the late 1960s as well as an expert diver, a black belt in karate and a hula dancer. She becomes known as "Queen of Makaha." Sunn establishes a surf contest for children to combat juvenile delinquency and fights breast cancer for 15 years. She dies in 1998.

The story centers on the life of pioneering musician Louis Armstrong during his early years in New Orleans and chronicle his career as a trumpet virtuoso and improvisational singer.

Where a Man Stands

Carter Paysinger, a black student from the wrong side of town, lands hard at upscale, mostly white Beverly Hills High, and his friendship with Fenton, a Jewish kid with whom he has little in common. Years later, Paysinger becomes a coach, teacher and eventually the first African-American principal in the storied school's 80-year history. This perch gives him the opportunity to team with Fenton to turn around the school and help the community that put him on the path to success.
