An elderly, arthritic former violinist named Marjorie, stares headlong into the decline of old age as her memories begin to fail her. Availing herself of a service that provides holographic recreations of deceased loved ones as their survivors would like them remembered, Marjorie spends her time with her daughter and son-in-law, and with an imperfect copy of her deceased husband, Walter, as he looked in his 30s and 40s.

Siblings discover the wreckage of a single-engine plane crash years after the accident has occurred. Three sets of siblings each interacts with the downed aircraft over time, from the crash to the discovery to an artist's installation based on the event.

In the late 1960s, three teenage sisters from rural New Hampshire form a band at the insistence of their overbearing father, who is convinced their talent will make them stars.
