In "Awake," a psychological thriller that tells the story of a man (Christensen) undergoing heart surgery while experiencing a phenomenon called "anesthetic awareness," which leaves him awake but paralyzed throughout the operation. As various obstacles present themselves, his wife (Alba) must make life-altering decisions while wrestling with her own personal drama.

In the movie, Will (Alexander Ludwig) is befriended by the mischievous Merriman Lyon (played by Ian McShane) and the ethereal Miss Greythorne (Frances Conroy). Will must gather the six Signs, or mystical medallions, in order to combat the Dark. But Will faces a potent adversary, called simply the Black Rider (Christopher Eccleston), a malevolent figure on a massive horse, whose goal is to stop Will and seduce him to the Dark.

In the small town of Norway, Iowa, everyone comes together for high school baseball. But life throws curve balls; and the passionate young players, rookie coach Kent Stock, and the hometown fans find that life's greatest challenges strike off the diamond.

The film is set in 1965, the year Sedgwick met Andy Warhol and became known as his muse and later died of a barbiturate overdose in 1971 at the age of 28.

The eagerly anticipated second feature from the co-creators of 2004's award-winning sleeper hit "Shaun of the Dead" is a contemporary action comedy.
