Set ten years after the first movie with Giselle finding herself questioning her happily ever after, and accidentally triggering events that make everyone's lives turn upside down in both the real world and in the animated kingdom of Andalasia.

Greg Heffley is a scrawny but ambitious kid with an active imagination and big plans to be rich and famous – he just has to survive middle school first. Based on the award-winning Saturday morning cartoon, it's the story about a dog named Spot, but that's where the ordinariness ends. Spot (voiced by Nathan Lane) is a talking dog that has taught himself to read. Wanting to further his education and experience new adventures, he disguises himself as a boy and sneaks into the same school where his master, Leonard, (Shaun Flemming) attends, and becomes the teacher's pet.
