Shoot Like A Girl

Mary Jennings serves three tours in Afghanistan as a rescue helicopter pilot where she Medevac'd hundreds of men and women off of the battlefield. At one point, her helicopter is shot down during a rescue mission and she is shot by the Taliban. She fights through her injuries to save the three Americans that are the target of the rescue mission, and her own team. Their ordeal culminates in a daring escape hanging onto the skids of a Kiowa helicopter. Hegar also sues the secretary of defense asserting that the Combat Exclusion Policy (which prevents women from entering direct combat) is unconstitutional, and she wins. In 2013, the secretary of defense repeals the policy.

U.S. Air Force Staff Sergeant and pararescueman August O’Niell is injured in the line of duty and makes the decision to amputate his left leg above the knee so he has a better chance of returning to service.

During WWII, Desmond Doss, an Army medic, is ostracized by his fellow soldiers because of his refusal to kill or even carry a gun. He proves his courage, saving 75 men at the Battle of Okinawa. He later becomes the first conscientious objector in American history to win the Congressional Medal of Honor.

The Lost Airman

Set during WW II, Arthur Meyerowitz's, an American turret-gunner, B-24 bomber is shot down over Vichy France in 1943. While hiding in the French countryside, Meyerowitz befriends Marcel Talliander, the founder of the legendary French resistance group Morhange, who helps shelter Meyerowitz from the Gestapo through his secret network. After six months of barely evading capture, Meyerowitz escapes through a carefully orchestrated plan that also involves R.F.W. Cleaver, one of the most accomplished British fighter pilots of the war.
