Development: Story selection and rights acquired; idea being crafted into usable script; financing and casting attachments sought; aiming for 'greenlight'. Johnny Rosenthal has been tapped to pen Area 52. The project has been in development at several studios and production companies almost since the comic was published in 2001. Summit picked it up last year, and Rosenthal is starting from a clean slate.
