Trevor Sawyer and the Lost Tachyon Plot: What's the story?

In the 21st century America is the new empire. The terrorist threat has been eliminated but the price of crude continues to soar. The Evil Three who control the world's oil supply have signed into law the patriot annexation act, giving the US the sovereign right to topple any regime that fails to comply with its gluttony for fuel under the auspices of freedom. The UN has condemned the act and convened an emergency oil summit in occupied Baghdad, triggering a global race for infinite fuel. Now, Marcus Sawyer and his 12-year-old son Trevor must retrieve the Tachyon from a spaceship that crashed in the Indian Ocean before energy before his enemies find it first and use it as the weapon of doom.
