"Mickey Rourke will play notorious Mafia hitman Richard Kuklinski in an upcoming movie based on the book, "The Ice Man", which was written by Phil Carlo.

Kuklinski claimed to have murdered over 200 men during a murder spree that lasted over 30 years. He killed his first victim when he was 13-years old and went on to murder 50 vagrants before getting involved with the Gambino crime family. Over the next 30 years, he killed somewhere between 100 and 130 individuals either by gun, strangulation or poison. While he carried on these activities, his family (including a wife and three children) and neighbours had no idea what he was doing. They thought he was a successful businessman.

Kuklinski was given the nickname “Iceman” because of his tendency to put corpses in an industrial freezer to disguise the time of death. Kuklinski spent 20 years in jail before dying in 2006 of natural causes. Rumours persist that he was actually poisoned by another Gambino family hitman, Sammy “The Bull” Gravano. "
