Robert Redford's next directorial project will follow a single dad who is living a quiet upper-middle-class life as an attorney in upstate New York. But his past comes back to haunt him when a story surfaces that he was the shooter in a bank robbery years ago, when he was a member of a group called the Weather Underground. The man must go on the run to find an old girlfriend who may be able to prove his innocence.

Set amid the tensions and uncertainties of the days following the Japanese surrender at the end of WWII. A general and expert on Japan on General Douglas MacArthur's staff is ordered to decide whether Emperor Hirohito should be tried and hanged as a war criminal. Interwoven with the politics is the story of a love affair with a Japanese exchange student he had met years previously in the U.S.

Wolf’s gang of rebels ambushes the Guillotines in their moment of hesitation. Wolf escapes, taking Mu hostage.
