Following the death of her mother and a series of self-inflicted setbacks, young Ingrid Thorburn (Aubrey Plaza) escapes a humdrum existence by moving out West to befriend her Instagram obsession and LA socialite Taylor Sloane (Elizabeth Olsen). After a quick bond is forged between these unlikeliest of friends, the façade begins to crack in both women's lives — with comically malicious results.

Woody Harrelson stars as Wilson, a lonely, neurotic and hilariously honest middle-aged misanthrope who reunites with his estranged wife (Laura Dern) and gets a shot at happiness when he learns he has a teenage daughter (Isabelle Amara) he has never met. In his uniquely outrageous and slightly twisted way, he sets out to connect with her.

A group of eccentric international assassins become fed up with Gunther, the world's greatest hitman who also happens to be an arrogant show-off, and decide to kill him. Their master plan, however, quickly turns into a series of embarrassing encounters as Gunther always appears one step ahead.

Set in Santa Barbara, the film follows Dorothea Fields (Annette Bening), a determined single mother in her mid-50s who is raising her adolescent son, Jamie (newcomer Lucas Jade Zumann, in a breakout performance) at a moment brimming with cultural change and rebellion. Dorothea enlists the help of two younger women in Jamie’s upbringing -- via Abbie (Greta Gerwig), a free-spirited punk artist living as a boarder in the Fields’ home, and Julie (Elle Fanning), a savvy and provocative teenage neighbor.

When the abuse from Terkel is too much, she throws herself out a window which makes Terkel more popular. Now dealing with popularity Terkel finds solace in booze, guns and everything American. But then life takes a turn for the weird when he receives strange death threats, unable to confide in his annoying sister or alcoholic Uncle, Terkel turns to his sexually inappropriate hippie teacher with intentionally hilarious results.
