Synopsis: A San Francisco socialite and TV talkshow star's life is ruined when she moves into an apartment house built upon a former hanging ground and cemetery. Bad things start to happen after a tarot card reader puts a curse on her because of a perceived insult during a party. First, the woman is harassed by a clan of drug users who rent the apartment above her and leave unexplained blood stains on the ceiling and the fire escape. The place is always cold, even though the thermostat is set at 90 degrees and her dog becomes such a whimpering wreck that she has to give it to friends. Finally, while she is away, she allows a close friend to stay in the apartment and she perishes in a suspicious fire.
