Titantic is the second highest grossing movie wordlwide. It is one of only three films to have received 11 Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director.

  • Other than the post-production 3D conversion, the movie will be exactly as it was in its 1997 theatrical release. In a October 2011 talk, James Cameron said that he would not change a single frame of the original movie.

  • Yes, the re-release date coincides with the 100th anniversary of the Titanic's maiden voyage on April 10, 1912 and its sinking on April 15, 1912.

  • No. Other than the re-release of the original movie, James Cameron has stated he would not alter the original nor it is likely he would ever approve a sequel. While there are movies titled Titanic 2, they are completely unrelated to the James Cameron movie.
