Julia Roberts portrays a college professor facing a crisis when a student accuses a colleague, leading her to confront a haunting secret from her past.

Rahim is in jail for a debt he hasn't been able to pay. During a two-day leave, he tries to convince his creditor to withdraw his complaint in exchange for paying back part of the debt. Rahim is then confronted with a crisis he would never have imagined.

Ian, a rebellious teenager living on the outskirts of society, can manipulate minds with his ability to generate visual illusions. He uses this power to survive - running small, indiscreet, scams.
