Angelology

Follows a young nun in upstate New York who, in uncovering a correspondence between the former mother superior and Abigail Rockefeller, unwittingly reignites an ancient war between a society of angelologists (a group that studies angels) and the Nephilim (the monster-like descendants of angels and humans). The book pulls from a variety of religious and mythical histories and, per Simonoff, "blends biblical lore, the Orpheus myth, the apocryphal Book of Enoch and the fall of the rebel angels, with bravura storytelling.

I Married a Witch

The story involves a centuries-old curse by a witch burned at the stake, intended to guarantee that the male heirs of those responsible for her death would marry women who were wrong for them. The witch reappears on the eve of the wedding day of one of the descendents and attempts to give him a love potion to make him fall in love with her. Of course, there's a mix-up and the witch drinks the potion by accident, falls in love with another man, and starts to become a housewife.

This is the epic adventure of how an 18th century Hawaiian tribal leader, Kamehameha (The Rock), conquered the seven main islands of Hawaii, and linked those tribes together as a single kingdom under his rule, which established them as a nation rather than a collection of feuding tribes. The timing couldn't have been more perfect, as this consolidation also allowed King Kamehameha to more adequately deal with the English explorers who came to the islands, starting with Captain Cook, who brought to Hawaii the wonders of modern technology, like firearms and tall-mast sailing.

While plot details are being kept under wraps, Will Smith and Charlize Theron will once again play immortal gods, who lose their powers when in each other's presence. The two must pair up to deal with a third entity. The actioner is expected to explore the 3,000-year-old world they're from, which was only hinted at in the first film.
