Based on the life of British anti-slavery crusader William Wilberforce. The story will center on Wilberforce's efforts as a member of Parliament in 18th-century England to end slavery and the slave trade in the British empire. Wilberforce was elected to the House of Commons when he was 21 years old and focused on the issue of slavery, successfully organizing a diverse coalition that went up against the most powerful men of the time.

Grace Andrews and Jim Halsey are a collegiate couple who are tormented by the mysterious hitchhiker John Ryder, a.k.a. The Hitcher.
