Eugene Evans (Finn Cole, “Peaky Blinders”) dreams of escaping his small Texas town when he discovers a wounded, fugitive bank robber Allison Wells (Robbie) hiding closer than he could ever imagine. Downsizing imagines what might happen if, as a solution to over-population, Norwegian scientists discover how to shrink humans to five inches tall and propose a 200-year global transition from big to small. People soon realize how much further money goes in a miniaturized world, and with the promise of a better life, everyman Paul Safranek (Matt Damon) and wife Audrey (Kristen Wiig) decide to abandon their stressed lives in Omaha in order to get small and move to a new downsized community — a choice that triggers life-changing adventures.

The story centers on a couple with the perfect destination wedding. The problem is that all of their friends from college are coming and when this crew gets together, the only thing that is promised is that everything that can go wrong will go wrong. What is the worst that can happen with 12 friends, too much tequila, and everything caught on tape? It's a wedding video everyone will want to forget, if only they can find it.
