Production: What we know about Wonder Woman 1984
- Based on the character created by William Moulton Marston, appearing in comic books published by DC Entertainment.
- Kristin Wiig will play DC comics villain Cheetah who has superhuman strength and agility (Hollywood Reporter, 2/28/18).
- Patty Jenkins said in interviews a few days after the release of Wonder Woman that she would set a sequel in the United States rather than Europe (Variety, 6/4/17).
- Warner Bros. Pictures President and CCO Toby Emmerich said the sequel won’t take place during World War I like the first, but is still likely to be set in the past (Variety, 6/20/17).
