The 39 Clues movie production status is currently Announced

Plot: What's the story about?
The Cahills, the most powerful family in the world, have numerous powers which are revealed through 39 clubs that are hidden around the world and scattered throughout history. It begins with the death of Cahill clan matriarch Grace, who changes her will at the last moment, giving her descendants the choice between $1 million or a clue.

Production: What we know about The 39 Clues
- DreamWorks picked up movie rights in 2008 as a potential vehicle for Steven Spielberg. During the development process, a script was written by Jeff Nathanson (Catch Me If You Can). It's unclear if Nathanson's script will move to Universal or if the studio will commission a new screenplay (Hollywood Reporter, 8/20/13).
- Based on the Scholastic 10-book adventure series by Rick Riordan. The book series was part of a multi-platform media puzzle chase that included collectable cards and an online game.
