The film follows a crew of underwater researchers who must scramble to safety after an earthquake devastates their subterranean laboratory.

A massive unmanned locomotive, nicknamed "The Beast" and loaded with toxic cargo, roars through the countryside, vaporizing anything put in front of it. Hundreds of sharks surround the men and attack without mercy or provocation. After several days in the water, the men start to lose hope. Overwhelmed with thirst, many begin to hallucinate. As the days mount up, and more and more men die, the survivors find a new determination to survive.

Set in a near-future dystopia, the impoverished residents of a slum are plagued by virtual reality addicts who earn a meager living playing violent games while serving as the workforce for real world wars.
