In the small town of Huguenot, Timothy approaches his thirteenth birthday, unaware this milestone marks the time of his transformation. His mother Rachel fears her son's health is deteriorating. But those around him—those who have guarded him since birth—know Timothy is a half-blood and that when the red moon is full, he will finally have the power to control his family's destiny. They also know that Timothy's gift puts his life in grave danger. Meanwhile, two packs of Skinwalkers watch the night sky. Bound by blood, divided by principles, and hellbent to survive, they understand that this rising moon signals the fulfillment of an ancient prophecy. Consequently, the packs are prepared to wage a fierce battle for possession of the one who holds the key to their future and their way of life.

Clyde (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and Stephanie Brenek (Kyra Sedgwick) see little cause for alarm when their youngest daughter Em becomes oddly obsessed with an antique wooden box she purchased at a yard sale. Shideh (Narges Rashidi) and her family live amid the chaos of the Iran-Iraq war, a period known as The War of the Cities. Shideh finds herself slowly drawn into the ensuing turmoil, struggling to cling onto what is real and what is not. Searching for answers, she learns from a superstitious neighbor that the cursed missile might have brought with it Djinn – malevolent Middle-Eastern spirits that travel on the wind. Convinced that a supernatural force within the building is attempting to possess Dorsa, Shideh has no choice but to confront these forces if she is to save her daughter and herself.

The movie is based on the true story of a woman and her fiance who, after setting sail from Tahiti, find themselves in the middle of a massive hurricane. After being knocked unconscious, the woman finds her boat in ruins and her fiance missing, now lost at sea. The rest of the story follows her 1,500 mile journey back to Hawaii while battling the elements.
